Since Disney closed their acquisition of Fox, Marvel fans have been excited about what the deal might mean for the MCU moving forward – in particular how the studio might reintroduce the X-Men and Fantastic Four.

While the current X-Men saga has only recently come to a conclusion with Dark Phoenix, Fantastic Four has remained untouched since the 2015 film that pleased almost no one, meaning that we could soon see the team reunite on the big screen. And according to several different reports, Marvel could already be lining up a new Fantastic Four to join the post-Endgame MCU.

First of all, it seems that Marvel Studios could be considering a real-life married couple for the roles of Reed Richards and Sue Storm – as the studio is reportedly eyeing John Krasinski and Emily Blunt for the leaders of the team.

A tweet from Geeks WorldWide’s Thomas Polito hints that the couple are being considered:

And WeGotThisCovered, speaking to their own sources has confirmed that this is the case, but they have also confirmed that the possible reboot is in very early stages, the Blunt and Krasinski are just two of many actors being considered. Wouldn’t they be amazing though?

Next on the list, Johnny Storm. As a big Chris Evans fan myself, I’d be quite happy to see him return to the role, but obviously a reboot is time for fresh meat – and as Evans has been playing Captain America for the last decade, it might be a bit of a stretch for fans. So, who is Marvel considering for the role?

Well, apparently, the studio is trying to complete the Hemsworth trio as they are eyeing Liam Hemsworth for the role.

While this Hemsworth has taken a bit of a back seat recently, enjoying married life with Miley Cyrus, it seems that Marvel Studios is looking to cast the actor as the youngest member of the Fantastic Four. WeGotThisCovered spoke to an industry insider, who confirmed that Hemsworth is one of the actors being considered for the role of the Human Torch in their potential FF reboot.

If he is cast, it would mean that Marvel had managed to get every Hemsworth brother in the MCU – obviously we know Chris is Thor, but many may not know that the eldest Hemsworth brother, Luke, played Thor in Loki’s Asgardian play in Thor: Ragnarok.

The final member of the team, Ben Grimm, is still something of a mystery, but some fans have taken a quote from David Harbour and read into it that he will be taking on the role of The Thing. Last month, Harbour attended MCM Comic Con in London, where he confirmed in an interview that he is to appear in the upcoming Black Widow film – but it was what he said that got fans talking.

Expressing his excitement at his role in the film, the actor said that “this thing is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Admittedly, it’s a pretty big leap from that statement to the thought that Harbour will be playing The Thing, but given Marvel’s penchant for not revealing their actors’ roles in their latest films to preserve the mystery, it’s all fans can do to try and guess who they could possibly be. And since the Disney/Fox merger, there’s so many options to consider, fans are desperately to see these characters brought to life in a satisfying way.

It’s likely that Harbour’s comment is innocent, and the actor won’t be donning a rock suit anytime soon – but how great would he be as Ben Grimm?
