During FX’s panel at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, network boss John Landgraf told the audience that the third season of psychedelic Marvel series, Legion will be its last, as creator Noah Hawley envisioned it.

The series follows David Haller (Dan Stevens) a troubled young man who’s diagnosed as schizophrenic – but following a strange encounter, he discovers that he has special powers which will change his world forever. Legion also stars Aubrey Plaza, Rachel Keller, Bill Irwin, Jean Smart and Jemaine Clement, Hamish Linklater and Navid Negahban.

Based on the Marvel series from Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, and created/executive produced by Hawley for FX, Legion was renewed for its upcoming third season in June, just before the finale of Season 2. Season 3 will be premiering sometime this spring, but no date has been set as-yet.

Hopefully, given that Hawley had always planned for three seasons, David’s story will reach a satisfying conclusion for fans, and may possibly even open the door for more.
